How #VLOGLIKEABOSS Became Real

Staying busy, speaking, and signing books is an awesome byproduct of all the work I’ve done over the last few years. No, I didn’t begin my career as an established YouTuber, international public speaker, best-selling author, or using awesome hashtags like #vloglikeaboss.

I did the work. I showed up. I practiced. I put in the long hours. And, years later, here we are.

At the Igniting Souls Conference, I gave a book away to every single person in the audience. Why? Because my book is a manual for making video. I’m very practical, and I love taking action.

Time is our level playing ground. We all get the same amount of time in the day to use how we see fit. Making video a priority is a choice. Making time to write a book is a choice. The time is there, you just have to take advantage of it in the right way to go after the life you want.

At the conference, Cary and I give you a bit of a behind-the-scenes to what went into making Vlog Like A Boss a real thing. It’s not just sitting down at the keyboard and pumping out a few paragraphs.

For me, and in my relationship with Author Academy Elite, it was about following up to lost emails, taking coffee meetings, listening as someone outlined my book on a napkin, and creating a collaboration that goes beyond the pages of this book.

#VlogLikeABoss was born because of hard work…because of relationships…because I was willing to get out of my comfort zone. (Remember, I’m a vlogger, not a writer!)

My relationship with speaking is similar. Now, I feel very much in my element when I’m speaking, but this was not always the case. There is so much that goes into speaking beyond standing on the stage, which keeps me creative, excited, and motivated to do more.

Creating a video like this isn’t just about vlogging my life. It’s about showing you what it’s really like to put in the work, to spend time with family, and to keep going when you’re exhausted.

Also, in case my life wasn’t crazy enough, Vincenzo and I celebrated our wedding with his enormous family in Connecticut in the middle of various speaking gigs and general craziness. ….never a dull moment

Do the work. And keep going after the life you want.
