5 Tips to Get Back Into Blogging [VIDEO]

Many bloggers put their blogging on hold because they aren’t getting anywhere with it and decide “thinking it over” will help them straighten it all out.

Well, I’m all for thinking. But ACTING is even better! Today’s video are my 5 tips for you to get back into blogging sooner than later so it’s not a waste of time while you figure the rest of it out.

5 Tips to Get Back Into Blogging

1.What is your goal?

If you don’t know what you’re doing what you’re doing, it’s going to be a big waste of time. It doesn’t make the goal can change over time. That’s appropriate becaues blog s often evolved. Savvy Sexy Social has changed at least twice. And I’m happy with where it is now because the goal and audience are finally aligned. But you have to think it through before and as you go to make it work.

2. What is your focus?

If you don’t know your audience they will never know you! You can’t think that what you talk about would help anyone because even if that’s the case, it’s going to keep you unfocused and your content will not be on the right track to get that audience on board as soon as possible. Know who you’re talking to so you can visualize them as you create.

3. What do you want to be known for?

It helps to have that alter ago goal sneaking in to keep you motivated. Sure your goals and niche are great enough but what are you really wanting people to say about you? Do you want to be the go to speaker in your industry? Or are you trying to aim for the ultimate vlogger?

4. What is your schedule?

If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it like 23 million more times. YOU. HAVE. TO. SCHEDULE. YOUR. CONTENT. CREATION! It’s the only way to ensure a regular schedule for your audience. And is that so much to ask of the people you want to come to your website? I don’t think so.

5. What are your metrics?

Work backwards from your goal and figure out what milestones need to happen to get there. These are the things you need to measure as you blog along. Don’t skip this step! You can’t grow if you don’t know how you’re doing.

Great blogging absolutely starts with interesting content and of course this is based upon the judgment of those who read your blog posts.

@SavvySexySocial Great video. The kick in the pants I needed. Thanks!

@Schmittastic @SavvySexySocial Word.

Ok, the good news is that I really feel like I have defined both my voice and my audience.

My major malfunction is that I have been inconsistent. I would like this to generate income, but if it were a job, I would hav fired myself long ago due to a failure to show up consistently.

I have now committed to my first deadlines.

   -  I WILL be posting Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

   -  I WILL finish my first eBook manuscript by 4/1.

Now I need to set some goals for readership. I think guest-posting and some freelance writing will help that.

Thanks for the post!

@Randy_Goodman Good! Get going my friend! Thanks for watching!
