Why You Should Be at Ohio Growth Summit
I love my town. I really do. But what I love more about it is the fact that we have such a presence of really truly brilliant people in entrepreneurship and social media. I know… it’s not just me.
One of the things that is a truly great representation of that is a local conference coming up this May called the Ohio Growth Summit. It’s put on by my friend Mike Bowers, Director of the Ohio Small Business Development Center. The center is helping so many people in our community to learn about and gain resources in the execution of starting and marketing their own business and the Summit is a great motivational and insightful extension of that.
I’m fortunate enough to be working with Bowers and his staff on the social presence for the event, so I have a lot of reasons to be excited for it. But before you get your panties in a twist that I’m just trying to grow attendance, 1) of course I am, but 2) I can assure you that I know the audience that reads this blog and the information that follows will verify how great of an opportunity this really is for you to improve how you do business should you be able to attend.
Ohio Growth Summit may not be one of the larger scale events you hear about, but in previous years OGS has seen some pretty impressive keynote speakers including Guy Kawasaki, Nick Warnock, Carrie Wilkerson, Chris Brogan, Jay Baer, and many more big names in business and marketing success.
The lineup for this year keeps the bar set high with the morning keynote welcoming Paul Evans, published business coach and speaker who has been advising entrepreneurs and small business for 22 years. He truly has the experience and knows the work ethic it takes to be a success, which is what he wants to share with the OGS audience. “Make more. Give more. Live more.” he says.
The closing keynote for the conference this year is with Gini Dietrich, author of Spin Sucks (a blog I read and share on a daily basis) and CEO of Arment Dietrich, a firm specializing in advising businesses of non-traditional marketing. Gini is very well known in the digital relations blogosphere, especially with such honors as a Social Media Examiner Top 10 Social Media blog and an AdAge Power 150 blog. With the release of her new book this May, Marketing in the Round: How to Develop an Integrated Marketing Campaign in the Digital Era, it’s perfect timing for OGS to have her join us and share her ideals and experiences.
In addition to these two amazing speakers, they will be having breakout work sessions with great local speakers. With options ranging from business organization, beginner’s social media marketing, getting financing for a startup, and advanced digital marketing, these sessions will offer attendees the opportunity for more hands on, problem solving groups. It’s a great chance for businesses to express individual issues to improve upon with the direct advice from specialized speakers.
You can learn more details about all the speakers at this year’s event here. You’ll find that if you’re in the Columbus area on May 24th, it will be a great investment in your business and profession if you join us at the Ohio Growth Summit.
Should you decide to attend, OGS was kind enough to offer my readers a 20% discount on attendance. So make sure you enter the code “SSS20” on the registration page to get that offer.
