Interview with YouTube Star Jenna Marbles [VIDEO]

The life of a YouTube sensation is a very interesting one to lead. Internet fame is still a really new phenomenom in our world today where you don’t have to be in a feature film or be a platinum selling artist to have fans screaming your name and crying when they meet you. One of the latest video creators to be attracting a lot of attention from the YouTube audience is Jenna “Marbles” Mourey, a comedian who makes weekly videos of whatever rant, story, or complaint she can think of.

Although the videos are basic and personal for the most part as she sits in front of her webcam in her bedroom, she’s getting millions upon millions of views on each video… even more than she has in subscribership in most cases. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get as many views as you have subscribers? That’s quite an accomplishment in YouTube entertainment.

So this weekend while I was visiting Playlist Live 2012, a YouTube unconference in Orlando, Florida, I was fortunate enough to not only steal a few minutes of Jenna’s time, but her manager Jen Olivar‘s time as well. We talked about all the madness of Jenna’s success and the social media strategy behind being a new media icon.

What do you think about the YouTube stars of the internet? Great way to make a living or get a “real” job?
